Matthews Coaches win prestigious Safety Award.
On Tuesday October 6th, local coach operators Matthews Coach Hire were awarded a prestigious award in Safety, by The Fleet Bus & Coach Magazine. The awards, which are an annual event in the Coach Sector took place in the Marriott Johnstown House Hotel, and was attended by other coach operators in the country. Matthews were awarded for their introduction in the Alcolock Technology, which is an onboard Breathalyzer system, which tests drivers before and during their driving shift.
This system ensures zero alcohol tolerance by prompting the driver to take a breath test to measure Breath Alcohol Concentration prior to the start of their journey. This innovation was awarded as it ensures that no driver operating a coach full of passengers is under the influence of alcohol.
The application process for the Awards, was the process of presentations, which were completed by Noel Matthews & Aine Rooney, both Matthews Coach Hire, who worked hard in every aspect of the application and are delighted with the outcome. Matthews Coach Hire have been the first transport company and only coach operator in Ireland to have introduced the Alcolock Breathalyzer system and have been strongly awarded for their innovation in safety, long may it continue.
